Scandi Byg wins Danish prestigious project
A detailed description of the residents’ needs, sustainability, environment, and the best possible utilization of the latest technologies within the area of assisted living facilities for elderly people were the decisive factors for choosing Scandi Byg as turnkey contractor for the 85 new homes for elderlies in Aarhus Municipality.
The user friendly and light homes are designed with attention to the elderly residents needs and to preserve as much independence as possible without reducing the daily contact with the care assistants.
Each house will be fitted with state-of-the-art technology for the elderly resident’s e.g. remote controlled windows, doors, curtains, toilet, and bath facilities.
The entire project is designed by local architects Regnbuen Arkitekter m.a.a and consultative engineers Esbensen Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S. Their local knowledge made it possible to design a cluster of small houses which matches the surrounding landscape perfectly.
While producing the necessary 260 modules needed for the project at our factory in Løgstør, our parent company MT Højgaard will prepare the site with the base for the modules and all the necessary piping and electrical cabling – helping us finish the project in a record breaking time compared to traditional building.
Sales consultant responsible for the quote Mr. Jens Jepsen, says that the project group at Scandi Byg has put all effort into presenting the customer with in depth descriptions and documentation of all important requirements such as noise reduction, and energy consumption.
The project has an estimated value of EUR 13 million and is expected ready for the new residents late 2012.
