Modern architecture and modular building go hand in hand

The 3,000 square metre extension of Lyngholmskolen in Furesø Municipality Denmark which Scandi Byg won in a tender in February this year, was officially opened on 4 September 2009 by the mayor of Furesø Municipality.

Everyone involved in the project from the mayor to the school principal and the leading architect at Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects are all very satisfied with both the project handling and the final result, which Scandi Byg has produced and installed in a record breaking time.

Mayor Jesper Back says to the Danish construction newspaper Licitationen that Scandi Byg’s ability to produce and install such a big project in only 4.5 months from the final building approval was given, and at the same time such a fantastic building has put them and their modular building concept top of mind for future building projects in Furesø Muncipality.

Because of the extension’s uniqueness - in not only the modern architecture but also in regards to the low energy consumption, environment and interior fitting out with class rooms with bright natural sky lights and open spaces for multiple purposes - the project has drawn much attention and several articles have been published in the Danish media.
